Vikki

Vikki Friedman invites any dance with fire. But this was not always so! In 1997, her apartment burned to the ground leaving her with only the clothes on her back and her strong spirit.

A long journey led her to Burning Man in 2001, which made a lasting impression. The fire dancers particularly intrigued her, and urged her to find a teacher. Within a year, her pursuit to conquer fire was stronger than ever.

In February 2003, Vikki began to study fire dancing at the Temple of Poi, and has been passionate about the art form ever since. Vikki adapted “Firespice” as her performance name as she developed a style alive with creativity, power and passion.

Now a devoted flow arts practitioner in poi, hoop, and staff; Vikki continues to develop her technique. Her nearly 7 years of Tae Kwon Do, earning her a black belt, influence her movement style, as well as her frequent practice of Bikram Yoga.

Vikki has graced the Copper Lantern Fire Theater with her playful, exhilarating performances since 2004.
